Games of Berkeley Store Championship 2015 Results

This was the biggest store championship I have been a part of at 55 players.

Luckily that rain cleared up in the morning because we had to announce pairings outside!

We played 6 rounds of Swiss and then cut to the top 8. The final game was played around 11:30pm. It was a long day!

With that number of players, I decided it was best if I focus on running the event which ended up being a good idea. I was able to focus on rulings and getting game results entered into the iPad which probably saved us about an hour over the day.

At the end of the day, Matthew Harrison-Trainor won his second Store Championship with Andy and NEH. Noah McKee had an insane run in Swiss, ending up with 22 prestige after only dropping 1 game.

I always like to see the Corp/Runner win ratio.

winsCorps had a healthy advantage at 53% of the wins vs 43% for runner. The missing percents were in the ties (where Corp also had an advantage).

Over 330 games were played that day (not including the non-tournament games I forced people to play between rounds when they finished early).

corp-identitiesIn terms of Corp IDs, NEH was the most prevalent at 14 players. This matches expectations but what was a bit surprising was the amount of ETF at 9 players. From there, there was great diversity featuring everything from Gagarin to Custom Biotics.

Andromeda was of course featured heavily but I was surprised to see how popular Chaos Theory is right now (actually beating Andy in the popularity contest). Overall, there was a huge amount of diversity in runner IDs.

Jared forgot his playmat. This wasn't a problem. He wasn't playing Exile unfortunately.

  1. Congrats on a huge turnout, Brian! Maylee and I had another commitment that day and had to miss it. Hope to see you in April or at regionals.
